Minnesota-based duo, Danny Diamond & Brian Miller, constitute two of the top Irish folk/traditional musicians in the US. Their soulful and compelling live performances run the gamut from romantic waltzes to tearaway reels, punctuated by impeccable arrangements of newly-unearthed traditional songs.

Danny Diamond is a fiddle player from Ireland, is currently based in Minneapolis, MN. His inventive fiddle playing draws on a rich family heritage of musical style and repertoire from the north of Ireland.

His past works include: Music Director and co-creator of the score for Teac Damsa’s multi award-winning dance theatre show Swan Lake / Loch na hEala (2016-2019). International touring included performances in the Sydney Opera House, The Bolshoi, Moscow, Abbey Theatre, Dublin, BAM Brooklyn and Saddlers Wells, London, among others. Danny also co-founded the Irish-Nordic indie folk band Slow Moving Clouds.

Brian Miller, a native of northern Minnesota, fell in love with Irish traditional music as a teenager in the crowd at the Winnipeg Folk Festival. His passion led him to spend a college semester abroad at University College Cork where he fell deeper in love with the music. Based in St. Paul since 1998, Brian is also the product of the rich Irish music scene of the Twin Cities that continues to strengthen each year.

Brian is active as a musician, researcher and librarian. He provides guitar and bouzouki accompaniment for the band Bua with whom he has travelled all over the United States. As a researcher, and with his duo The Lost Forty, Brian revives Irish-influenced songs collected in the Great Lakes region and the stories of the singers and fiddle players that carried them. He directs the Eoin McKiernan Library, writes the blog “Northwoods Songs” and teaches at the Center for Irish Music
