This was the beginning of a life-long fascination with dance music and traditional music. In addition to learning classical flute, Alberta received a scholarship from the Indy Irish Fest and studied Irish flute with noted Irish musician, Grey Larsen. Also accomplished in traditional Irish singing, Alberta has qualified for the in the All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil (traditional Irish music competition) for women's ballads in English.  She competed in Ireland in 2004, 2007, and 2013.  In 2018, she represented the US in a singing recital in Drogheda, Ireland and also performed in the 2018 Fleadh Cheoil North American Concert .
